Forgive my ignorance but is the WPUK Unconference in Birmingham classed as a WordCamp event and if not, is there any likelihood of another WP conference of sorts later in the year (in addition to, I presume London)?

Hi Joff – you can see in the last paragraph in the post above ‘WordCamp status for the event has been applied for’ from WordCamp Central – we’ll post here when the outcome of this application is known.
All confirmed UK WordPress local meetings and conferences are listed at http://wpuk.org/events/

Joff, There will likely be WordCamp’s in Manchester and London, and possibly more, next year. Keep an eye on WordCamp Central http://central.wordcamp.org/

Thanks Mike, Tony, for confirming that.
I’m considering starting a local meeting here in Peterborough (inspired by a visit from Tim Nash) but also feel the city could be a good venue for a future WordCamp. event.

Hi Joff – If you get a local group going, contact me at http://wpuk.org/contact/ and I can list it on http://wpuk.org/events/ (for the first meeting probably best to have a social type meeting to discuss future format etc).
