Thanks Tony – we’ve packed out the venue but we may be able to release a few more tickets next week. I’ll keep you all posted :)
Hi Kimb – if you manage to release more tickets it would be great if you could post an update on WPUK Discuss.
Kimb Jones, WordCamp Sheffield 2014 organiser, says there is space available for a WordPress hack/contributor day the Friday before conference, and asks is anyone interested?

The first WordCamp in Sheffield takes place on Saturday 26 April 2014.
Tickets are now available and the first tranche of speakers have been announced.
Is this the ‘main’ UK Wordcamp this year, like Lancaster was last year, or are we going to be treated with more local camps this year?
With the advent of multiple WordCamps in the UK since the end of last year, starting with WordCamp London 2013, there is no longer one main WordCamp in the country.
Arrangements for the follow up to last year’s WordCamp Lancaster UK have been announced – WordCamp Sheffield is a new event, and potentially the first in a series to be held in the city.
I’ve never been and have not been to a group. I love WP and use it loads – will I feel like a fish out of water?
Kay – Almost all the local groups in the UK, which usually meet monthly, as well as the WordCamps, cater for all levels and types of users.
Normally before meetings agendas are issued with the subjects to be covered.
I’m sure you’ll be welcome at any of these meetings.

Kay – Lancaster 2013 was my first ever Wordcamp and I had a splendid time. The event was well organised and very friendly. I learned a lot and met some interesting people. I can’t recommend UK Wordcamps highly enough and am looking forward to visiting more than one this year. One word of warning though – Wordcamp London sold out early last year so I wouldn’t be surprised if the same happens with Sheffield this year!
