  WordCamp Bournemouth UK 2014 running order version 0.81 

  Version 0.81 of the WordCamp Bournemouth UK 2014 running order has been posted.

  This is likely to incorporate all changes to be made before the event, including:

  • All sessions have now been scheduled into rooms 1 and 2
  • The Happiness Bar is now a common room
  • The WPUK Awards 2014 have been dropped due to the lack of nominations across the categories
  • Room 3 is now available for any ad hoc sessions during the weekend

  Therefore could all participants, particularly those taking sessions, check the latest version of the running order to ensure they are aware of all the changes.

  More nominations invited for WPUK Awards 2014 

  Substantially more nominations are required to run WPUK Awards 2014.

  Unless more valid nominations are received, the WPUK Awards will be postponed to a later date.

  The deadline for nominations has been extended to midday on Wednesday 9 July 2014.

  Nominations can be made by registered WPUK Discuss users (here’s how to register) in the following categories for UK orginated WordPress sites and activites:

  • Best WordPress UK website
  • Best WordPress UK website content
  • Best WordPress UK plugin
  • Best individual contribution to WordPress UK activities

  Nominations must be made by Wednesday 9 July 2014 at the latest.

  There will then follow voting by registered WPUK Discuss users, and the awards will be announced at the end of WordCamp Bournemouth UK 2014.

  Thursday 3 July 2014 Bournemouth t-shirt deadline 

  1900 on the evening of Thursday 3 July 2014 is the deadline to get tickets or microsponsorship with guaranteed event t-shirts for WordCamp Bournemouth UK.

  After this time, t-shirts in your size cannot be guaranteed.

  This deadline is due to t-shirt manufacturing deadlines, and is also applicable to sponsors who have not processed their complementary tickets through the event website system.

  Therefore, everyone who wants to ensure a correctly sized event t-shirt should purchase their tickets by 1900 on Thursday 3 July 2014 at latest.

  There’s still time to propose a presentation for the two day event.

  If you don’t want to lead a full session, you could give a 5 minute lightening talk.

    Hi all

    For accommodation in Bournemouth, there still may be some rooms here:

    http://www.themayfair.com (Speak to Carole) (walking distance from the venue)

    Also, try this hotel http://www.thewatergardenhotel.com/ although they don’t open until 1st July (!) This hotel has now been sold, and the new owners will be refurbishing during July 2014, so it’s no longer available.

    These two are the most reasonably priced. Just to be aware the weekend clashes with a Cheerleaders Conference at The BIC, so there are limited rooms left that are reasonably priced.

  WordCamp Bournemouth UK 2014 sponsorship arrangements have been released.

  Sponsorship is available in two groups.

  For companies and organisations:

  • Platinum – £1000
  • Gold – £700
  • Silver – £350
  • Bronze – £175

  For individuals and small enterprises:

  • Microsponsorship – £50, which can be purchased from the event website when ticket sales start in the near future
